Introduction to Statistical Testing and Interpretations

This course is a 5-day blended learning into the discipline of descriptive and inferential statistics where you will learn the underpinnings, assumptions and the interpretations of the most commonly used statistical tests such as t tests, Chi Square tests, ANOVA, Z test, Linear regression and much more. The course builds up the skills needed to learn about the calculations and formulas behind each statistical test using Excel.  This course constitutes the foundation for candidates seeking to learn later on how to use SPSS or other advanced statistics analytical software.

Course Objectives

At the end of this blended training course, participants will be able to:

  • Learn about the date types
  • Learn how to calculate and interpret the descriptive statistics
  • Understand the concept of Z Score, Confidence Intervals and learn how to calculate and interpret them
  • Learn the concepts, hypotheses and assumption of T tests, Z tests, Chi Square test, ANOVA, Spearman Rho and Linear Regression
  • Conduct and interpret T tests, Z tests, Chi Square test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Linear Regression using Excel
  • Develop and test hypotheses for each statistical test
  • Learn about types of errors in statistical testing
